One would think after this many years of having an individual – myself for instance – under surveillance, there would be a hint of justification to bring to a federal judge, mentioning that, after all this time, here’s an allusion at least, of what we have so far… But let’s backtrack a bit… On the morning of August 8 of this year – starting at about 7:05 am, going on, from 32nd street and Schaffer Rd (in South East Grand Rapids, at the G.R./Kentword city border), aerial drones and a host of automobiles stalked me from one end of town to the other, unbeknownst to me, thinking that the planes which seemed to be following me were a fluke – just coincidence, with the area I was traveling, being so close in proximity to the (Gerald R. Ford) airport, that, well, it was of no consequence. The skies of this part of town usually are not without planes flying at least a dozen times or more per day. So as I traveled from work (just getting off from third shift), to the (Woodland) mall, to breakfast, then later (about 9:45 – 10:00 am), to the (Kentwood Public) Library, it was noticeable. Then, by the time I was leaving the library, it struck me that this plane had been circling overhead the whole time; from the time I left work to the mall, getting onto, than off of buses, to the library then leaving! And for what reason?

That’s when it struck me – that not only was I being stalked by air drones, but by all manner of automobiles! And while this has been going on for some years, I could somehow not ignore that this silliness had not yet subsided – now five years from the time I noticed that this foolishness had begun! Thinking that this is limited to just aerial drone and auto privacy violations is as equally foolish as thinking chirping, screeching birds and insects following me around in the dead of night is impossible. But there is no expense spared in this regard. At the library, the store, work of course and everywhere in between, is the length to which illegal, warrantless, pointless, INSANE and obviously useless spying is! Because in all these years, there has been nothing to justify the entire endeavor spying on me, just as there is no point for those engaged in it, that they should continue lying that they are not doing it for… reasons of… well, we’re still waiting for any such reasoning – if it can be considered or qualified as being a reasonably pursued law enforcement endeavor.

Is it the FBI? Is it local, county or state police? Without a doubt it is security contractor’s who operate with impunity far outside the realm of oversight.  With no accountability standards beyond those enumerated within the U.S. Constitution and/or Bill of Rights, who do, would or can they be answerable to?  And yet the fact remains that someone is stalking me, with a vindictive demeanor, as if having been wronged, defamed or disrespected in some sort of way.  My past blogs have had that sort of reaction on the childish, intellectually limited conservative minded reader, I must admit…

Why else would I have sudden problems at school, on the job, with the law and suffering general difficulties acquiring an avenue of accessing my Constitutionally GUARANTEED rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness – as enjoyed by my Caucasian peers that I’ve shared classes with, housing, employment and life, generally? How and why could this have arisen at this point in my life, as no other time, immediately after entering into the Public Square of intense ideological, political and Civic, Cultural debate – via this particular blog?

Equally, and of greater consideration, how could I have become a target of local police attention, in the course of having committed no crimes EVER in life? This is no joke! Nor is this an exaggeration!  Something unexplainable has gone awry in my life that has caused the college (Grand Rapids Community College) I graduated at the top of my class (es – having graduated with Associates Degrees in both Business Administration AND Liberal Arts), to see fit to ban me from every area of their campus, while instilling the fear of God in its employees prohibiting them from discussing why!  …Even as I see them looking nervously about when I approach, as if they too are being watched…

Who has such power(s)? As an example of how far-reaching and menacing is the threat from secret, covert targeting of unsuspecting, innocent and completely law-abiding citizens has become, a supervisor on a very low-end, inconsequential job, while training a new employee, does so in a completely, hostile and contradictory fashion, attacks the trainee for carrying out procedures as trained to do and subsequently ordered to carry out, could be looked on as simple envy. But a series of confrontations which ensue, resulting in the trainee being eventually dismissed is an altogether more serious matter.

At an online sales company, a Customer Service agent excelling at their job at the outset, suddenly finds themself locked out of the call ‘que’ (the computerized phone system at a call center which distributes incoming calls to all call center operators, on the basis of first-in-line availability) and unable to keep up the prior 60 days sales totals that put them at the very top of all agents, because calls from earlier that very same shift were suddenly being routed, or recycled back through the que – around his que position, eventually resulting in their being handed off to those very same calls again – with the consequence being another dismissal, from yet another job…

A grocery clerk, doing his job, is suddenly set upon by unknown assailants and at a loss as how to respond to unknown assailants’ spraying a hazardous substance at/near/on him, begins video-taping himself at work, in the hopes of catching these individuals in the act. Once enough evidence is gathered, informs his superiors at his place of employment, as well as local (Grand Rapids) Police who immediately question the state of mind of the victim! Instead of even taking the time to look at the gathered store surveillance taped evidence and the private video records of the person assaulted by these mysterious individuals doing the spraying (of the hazardous chemicals), the Grand Rapids Police instead go to his place of residence, asking the landlord (of whom the victim had only just met when the rental agreement was signed!), inferring the victim may be of questionable mental capacity – never mind that the complaint of being assaulted was never investigated in any way, shape or form!

And so, lost was the opportunity to discover just who these individuals were – through motor vehicle records, facial recognition software (extensively used by law enforcement), military or police records, or even possibly having ties to the very police themselves –  now charged with doing an unbiased investigation, leaving the victim stranded and at the mercy of lawless and secret criminals. And for what purpose? How can an individual be covertly, secretly set upon in such ways that the police themselves appear to be in league with them?  How can such things happen – in America, no less?  If our past can be considered as prelude, we then have our answer…

Profiling, Poverty And The Take-down Of Activists Of Conscience

Later, when the clerk advised he had been stalked by shoppers around the store, after evading them initially and one (shopper) making a direct attempt to enter the clerks personal space while his back was turned, the clerk was again dismissed. Even after several more successive incidents and another police report filing, the clerk was eventually dismissed from his job! In this, the age of terror, continual, 24-hour surveillance and endless profiling of anyone fitting the description of suspicious, not one reported incident was ever investigate.  Or were they?  Did the police have all the evidence needed after all?  And did they know, at a professional and/or personal level, the identities of the perpetrators?

On his next job, another set of similar incidents would unfold, this time involving a co-worker – a Jonathan Meyers – who had just recently moved back to the Grand Rapids area, from Chicago. Both Jonathan and the clerk featured here, were both hired the very same day. As their work history unfolded, conflict arose between the two, with Jonathan assuming his racial entitlement posture, and proceeded to establish the pattern of telling the older, far more experienced and vastly more educated non-white co-worker, how to do the very simple, self-descriptive and mundane chores of being a grocery clerk! And as insulting as it was to have to lower himself to accept such a position, at the very barest of minimal pay and stature, it was all that was available at the time, for an educated, experienced (in this field as well), non-white American male.

Patiently, the non-white clerk would ignore Jonathan from the outset, only to soon realize these acts were purposefully antagonistic provocations. Jonathan was then told (by his non-white co-worker) that his intent was fully understood, that he was in fact, doing this at the behest of someone paying him to instigate conflict. But even with this revelation, nothing would deter Jonathan from continuing his hostile endeavor. It soon spilled out from the privacy between these two individuals, into the workplace, where their supervisor had no choice but to eventually intervene.

Being white, Jonathan of course, played the role of the frightened victim, fearful of the black rage that – according to his assumed suspicions, could explode upon him at any moment! The featured clerk (Jonathan’s non-white co-worker) tried to reassure his superiors that committing any workplace violence against Jonathan – or anyone else for that matter – was the furthest thing from his mind and in fact, was open to taking opposite days and hours from this obviously troubled, insecure little white man, if it meant keeping the peace.

Because of scheduling constraints, the two could not avoid eventually working together however and as the conflict continued, the non-white clerk was of course made the scapegoat and let go as a result, under the pretext that the post-Fourth of July holiday business reductions, was the reason for being dismissed. The hardship of being the voice of conscience once again would strike out yet again, thrusting yet another non-white male into further poverty and the suspicion of being suspect… of – name the crime – the nigger has got to be guilty!

White American’s have to own up to what they’ve done to this nation – and the world – if we’re ever going to do anything to turn things around in this country. Case in point, while adding comments to an article posted on one of my favorite website, National Memo, the computer I was using at the Grand Valley State University computer lab was attacked, or should I say, hacked, as I was saying, or rather writing, and to paraphrase, … we as Democrats, as Liberal/Progressives, don’t need to think like conservatives and drive ‘wedges’ or anything anywhere! Our ideology is all about the citizenry, equality, truth and being maturity, in the process of responsibly owning and managing a Democracy. White voters not seeing it as such, have again fallen into the trap of racism laid by conservatives, painting (President) Obama as some ‘Black-male-terror-to-be-feared, when they (White voters) are just now realizing they’ve again, been made complete fools of.  Voting for conservatives in 2000, 2002, 2004, meant those votes were directly responsible for the destruction of the nation – like it or not.  Then, again in 2010 and 2014, voting against restoration, reconstruction and rebuilding of the nation their past votes represented, in the actual destruction of the nation originally, by again voting ‘AGAINST’ your best interests (i.e., President Obama/Liberal & Progressives/Democrats), in the two Mid-Term elections since, just because conservatives said he was ‘bad,’ and media money hypnotized you (White people) – in BOTH elections – to believe that ‘that Black guy in the White House’ was no good and not to be trusted – under ‘ANY’ circumstance!  It only came to pass because it was only money and corporate media played and replayed the same message, over and over, until it became so!

The article, by John Stoehr, titled Keystone, Patriotism And The White Working Class (see it at: http://www.nationalmemo.com/keystone-patriotism-white-working-class/ ), began as a call for all Americans to pay attention to the upcoming deadline for authorization of the Keystone XL Pipeline, which if it becomes a reality, will deliver the very worst and dirtiest petroleum imaginable (although we have yet to reach the absolute bottom of the petroleum reserves barrel yet, so the worst may still be yet to come, considering the chemical composition of Canadian tar sands petroleum that will course the length of the XL Pipeline). The processing itself will require more water and additional chemicals, in breaking down the tar sands petroleum, into eventually, a usable grade of fuel for the global consumer.

Mr. Stoehr then quickly shifted gears to the tragic plight of Democrats having lost precious support among so many White, middle and poor, working class voters during each Mid-Term election, since 2010. And it’s not even so much that they lost such traditionally steadfast demographics, but the issue is more how they lost that support! That White Americans in fact, were duped into this, as a long-term strategy, to not just turn on Democrats, but eventually, Obama himself, by the 2012 Presidential elections. But it goes far deeper…

Conspiracy To Treason And Vice Versa

Since the Civil (or more distinctly, Human) Rights era, White Americans certainly understood the plight of Black Americans and the inhuman reckoning faced daily in the Jim Crow h

American South and the complicit American North of the nation. It would take a joint, national and unified effort to undo centuries of oppression, but it was meaningless, once money stealthily moved into the picture and our politics slowly rightward.

Mr. Storhr told a tender story of a father – a long-haul steel driver and no doubt, Union member. While not mentioned directly and from the history of the period, his mother appears to have been a stay-at-home mom, as this being one of the more lucrative trades, afforded families to be able to rely on a single income of such magnitude.

This was around the 1980’s, as the narrative gives a glimpse of the times being categorically anti-government, as well as anti-military, which was the pervasive mood of the country during this period. As a consequence, we can see that the nation learned nothing in the interim, instead, shifting in an ever wrong direction, voting increasingly Republican with the psychic terror tactics again working against White American’s and inducing fears of some imaginary Black (drug-war spill-over into White suburbs) or Arab (terror attacks on servicepersons) menace – somewhere out there – ready to reach out and kill in the blink of an eye. What was not paid attention to was the fact that competent, coherent government was practiced the whole of the 1980’s by Democrats, as a check against the paranoia of the money and power elites of the nation, who feared the shifting demographic landscape would eventually look the way it would in the 1990’s. That with the obvious consequences of education being that it was indeed the great socio-economic equalizer – and then, in the 1990’s, it literally coming to pass. Middle Class and poor working class American’s of races, cultures, gender and age groups were perfectly fine with these developments and got along perfectly fine, during this period. The unease was reflected in the push-back against Clinton, making the opposition not about policy of economics or even ideology, but rather his personal morals and then, tying them to his associations with those people – people of color, we should make no mistake!

There was a desperation underneath all of this opposition, if reading Mr. Storhr essay carefully. We have the right-wing anti-government initiative, which was all about a pushback against giving stuff (or more precisely, rights, freedoms, liberties, equality and justice, to Americans as a birthright, but denied for centuries, even after the Emancipation of slaves and the Civil War) to those people. Reagan’s imagined welfare queen comes to mind. Along with that came attacks on labor unions, which became the perfect ally to non-White factory and then farm workers, during the 1950’s, into the 1960’s. Education – Public education, that is – became another object of derision, causing waves of violence from coast to coast, with the forced busing and property tax issues again dividing the nation, when it should have been coming together because the legislature, the Constitution and the courts, all working in unison, to make our nations laws uniform and equally applicable in every situation.

But this is where the shift occurred, where our thinking everything was ok, the slow shifting and redistribution of wealth during the 1980’s, would not actually manifest until 2000, when the Supreme Court aligned itself with elites and corporations, in the person and as supportive of George W. Bush. Over the years since the 1970’s, the donor class has exerted extreme muscle in wresting control of our government from us squabbling Middle Class and working class poor buffoons, not paying attention in the least, while the whole of us lost rights, liberties and eventually, control of our government.

I didn’t believe this myself, until I discovered something that came quite as a shock – a report that intricately details how the rich and corporate people (although we know there’s no such thing and if you don’t believe it, ask one (a corporate individual – NOT their paid representative, CEO, lawyer or PR person, but THE actual corporate PERSON!!!) have bribed control of our government from our legislature, judiciary and executive branches of government! Over the course of the same now, 34 years, the tax cuts to only the wealthy and corporations, have been paying, as the report is titled, Stacking the Deck, so that the power will eventually reside only in the hands of the one percent and corporations.

The data stunning in its unambiguous details of specifically how this effort is deliberatively racist, as the impacts are undeniably aimed to harm people of color. The report itself: Stacked Deck: How The Bias In Big Money Political System Undermines Racial Equality, (found at: http://www.demos.org/publication/stacked-deck-how-bias-our-big-money-political-system-undermines-racial-equity) could not be more accurate in analyzing the slow but poisonous trend of making irrelevant, the power of the nation’s broad, diverse and homogenous citizenry, becoming entangled in the same politics of capriciousness cultures, races, genders and age groups, against themselves, in the manner described in the article by John Stoehr.

The reversals, as detailed by the first half of the report, describing how racial equality and the legal remedies of government to correct this crisis, is then followed up by a second report with the same title, and subtitled, … How the Racial Bias in Our Bib Money Political System Undermines Our Democracy and Our Economy, has become therefore, the pivotal issue surrounding the amazing banality possessing the entirety of Americas voting age public. Not knowing what this all means nor how to correct it, what is so horrifying!

Using Mr. Stoehr story-line, of the impact that allowing the XL Pipeline project to move forward as plans, inevitably points our attention in the other direction of why the obsessive determination to continue using fossil fuels, when we have – tabled and shelved and unused – all sorts of Green, renewable energy options that, today, could make our dependency on fossil fuels obsolete with just a few years. Yet we can’t even come to a consensus on this issue, because we don’t have a clear enough understanding of exactly what Global Climate Change is – another issue where our understanding is tortuously dictated – again – by big money media propaganda. In essence now, this is not a problem for Democrats, but rather all live on the planet, if we fail to discontinue using fossil fuels immediately. Because what will our politics look like should we go even another 50 years, pursuing both courses that our energy and political policies are on a catastrophic course heading?

The Death Of Democracy – The Death Of Earth

While rank and file Democrats and sound-thinking, reasonable conservatives know what’s at stake in the climate debate, many are paralyzed by the bribery condoned, forbidding them to act – let alone speak. This is where the racial issues come into play, as White voters feel traitorous should they side with non-White voters on any issue even remotely reasonable, intelligent or racially relative. Education is currently under the same money influence, with Charter Schools robbing Public Schools nation-wide of gravely deprived funding, at a time when all of our children need the very best education they can get, so that should we fail, they will at least have a fighting chance to coordinate solutions among the whole of their numbers, to apply the knowledge gained through a full and comprehensive education. This is not a matter, as the article pointed out, of how Democrats will reach White voters, but whether or not they will use simple common sense in realizing they and their progeny likewise, are doomed to a slow and miserable demise, should they not make the choices NOW to correct their OWN voting errors and reengage the political system as instructed in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

First, a quick look at the terrain is essential in order to even think about moving forward. Because if historical memory serves correctly, the Human Rights initiatives, linked together with the anti-war movement, the ecological movement and the much ignored, but no less crucial anti-imperialist movement – which was also an outgrowth of our own American Human Rights initiative, all were derailed by the Vietnam War. Where we are mere inches from the point we were EXACTLY 50 years ago! How can we NOT even see the parallels? Just when major decisions are demanded of our legislature, executive and judiciaries, they’ve all failed, because we have not yet realized our citizen-control and power has been short-circuited.

What Mr. Stoehr forgot to mention was how convoluted our political system has become as a result of big money initiatives to dilute and obstruct voting in poor and non-White communities nation-wide. Because of income, wealth and racial inequality, the whole of the bottom 89% of the nation’s ENTIRE CITIZENRY is under distinct duress. Then, there is the militarization of our police and their violently repressive tactics, purely intended to intimidate, harass and brutalize the public – especially non-Whites, non-conservatives, outspoken dissidents (such as myself, being just tonight, in the process of commenting on Mr. Stoehr’s own article, was my on-line access halted by the illegal and immoral surveillance I’m continually under specifically because of essays such as THIS!!!), or protesters of the inequality that was an outgrowth of the manufactured economic crash and depression of 2008.

The whole of the citizenry lost everything. The rich and corporations were the only demographics and entities to escape any harm at all! That should tell our White fellow citizens something about what we’re facing collectively, as a nation. The wealthy are in their own shut-off world and with the money poured into media, the propaganda has the intended results of dividing the collective minds of citizens against even utilizing government for the purpose it was originally intended – to be a check against the oppressive wealth and power of rich elites and corporations.

This is why it was and remains so critical to underfund Public education, so that neighborhoods schools are unable to teach the actual and true history of the American Revolution, the causes and consequences of the Civil War and why the Union achieved an honorable and just victory and any other notions are intentionally wrong, for the sake of, once again, dividing Americans against themselves. But we are so lost after these last 40 years of miseducation, as an imperative of the wealthy, to not just stop paying taxes toward equitable education and outcomes in White, non-White and diverse, mixed communities, equally. Bearing this our are graphs of the report mentioned earlier, showing the disparity of understanding and then, how their large donations move their feelings and opinions into reality – no matter what the general public thinks or desires. Understand now, that OUR Constitutional mandates are dictated by broad public consensus. We no longer even read the open paragraph of the Constitution the same, as a result of conflicts over White and non-White interpretations of life in America – no matter the savage levels of poor and Middle Class sufferings across racial lines!

I encourage every American to not only read this report, but recommend it to family, friends, neighbors and strangers, when and where possible. The consequences of not acting immediately will only result in a hastening to the destruction of all life on this planet. I matters not a damn whether we believe in Global Climate Change or not. Profit-driven lust and our obsession for cheap energy will be our doom if we fail to comprehend what conservatives mean to do to the population. Cheating us out of our Social Security and our birth-right obligations and responsibilities over our Democracy should be an insult to every American. Particularly because it has an unmistakably and exclusively racist nuance to it.

It was in fact conservative voters, along with frustrated, excluded non-White voters who have gotten the nation into the mess we’re in. They owe the rest of us a particular debt by helping undo the fiasco that has overtaken us over the last 40 – plus years. It is now far too late to even think about racist loyalties and owing what to whom (in the case of sympathizing with the rich in this case), during this – a brutal and unquestioned class war, that only the rich are waging, but that we, the non-rich, are too scared of hurting the feelings of the demographic of the very rich, who, coincidentally, are determined to kill us all – including THEMSELVES – should we fail to stop them! Remembering whose Democracy this is will not only reinforce your understanding, but also your own determination to initiate recalls of legislators whose only interest in self-enrichment and handing power over to those who mean the entirety of the non-wealthy, the most deliberate harm imaginable. Don’t let one more day pass without every American not determining to act on behalf of each other, our nation, our Democracy, and every other living thing on the planet…

Update: Thursday, February 19, 2015 –  Before I was even done with this article last night, I went back to National Memo’s website only to find that the article had already been taken down!  After only two hours!!! This is a serious issue and American’s had better clear they minds and souls of the foolishness that is ripping this nation apart and has us at the precipice of global annihilation – DIRECTLY BECAUSE of our continued use of fossil fuels – when alternatives are readily available.

The article, by John Stoehr, was/IS a fine piece of journalism and should be widely read.  But this is the terror facing the nation however, in the police-state suppression of thought, ideas and expressions of TRUTH we’re otherwise hiding from.  And more often now, by threat and intimidation.  Being a supposed Liberal website, National Memo has some explaining to do to it’s readers, on why this timely and crucial article was pulled and whose decision it was to pull it…  r21 –

It is supremely ironic that we are here – AGAIN! – exactly, 43 years almost to the day when we had to wrest control of our government BACK from the tyrannically conservative Richard Nixon.  Within years, we would run him out of the White House in a futile attempt to restore Constitutional order – if only for a short time – back for the nations citizens and our government.    A brief moment of less than a decade.  And while many American’s were too young to remember these events, the lessons were wasted teaching moments that all too often have slipped away and out of our collective memory.  That in itself is the tragedy.  But even worse, it has been occurring far too often of late.  The question is now, what do we plan to do about it?  How many more  hits on our nation and Democracy, will we the PEOPLE of God – of faith and of the longest enduring, most resilient Democracy in human history, before we jointly determine its OUR RESPONSIBILITY – to defend, with our honor, treasure – our lives if and when necessary?

When a young lady in New York is placed under surveillance, and while attending an Occupy rally, is fondled by law enforcement, concealing his identity and then, only after her natural reaction is to defend herself from being accosted, is placed under arrest and charged, after striking blindly at an unseen person behind (see: http://bigstory.ap.org/article/occupy-activist-be-sentenced-police-assault) her , this is terror.

When an elderly citizen takes in his son – who also happens to be a Liberal/Progressive activist writer and who too, is under surveillance – who has no place to live in the dead of the harshest Michigan winter in living memory, an active, engaged and independent 93 year old, then quickly deteriorates – both physically and cognitively – because someone has been coming into his house while no one was there, putting substances in the food, on clothing, on bedding, releasing bugs (of the micro-drone variety), whose bite injects substances which cause mental and physical deterioration’s, that is terror!

When after an extreme and near complete civic and institutional collapse, a nation, knowing it needs to restructure its entire way of conducting the business of government, is prevented from doing so, by elements outside, as well as inside that same government, stand directly in opposition and in the way of a new president and even before announcing a single policy initiative toward the restorations necessary for the re-establishment of law, order and governmental and regulatory transparency, to job markets, business, banking and investments, education, ensuring racial, gerontological, gender and LGBT rights, international diplomacy, environmental restorations and assistance to the elderly, disabled and the poor (victimized by that same collapse of society), that IS terror!

Future President James Madison asked a young, reflective nation, after a time of difficult war and hardships of rebuilding, in that intense several months between October 27, 1787 to August 16, 1788, to think long and hard.  To think deeply.  To consider the “… sum or quantity of power…” we, the people, of a not yet nation, were about  to bequeath, or to “… vest in the government… ” not yet even in existence.  Federalist 41 would continue walking a trusting citizenry down a path lit bright with hope, anticipation and the ambition of the affirmative possibilities that, as Madison challenged, would they, at that moment of flux, to we now in this modern age, as their directly descended progeny, know with absolute certainty, if “…any powers transferred to the general government, be unnecessary or improper…?”  A second question which followed, was “… whether the entire mass of them (that conglomeration of ‘powers’) be dangerous to the portion of jurisdiction left in the several states…?”  It would not be more than 180 years before those who would vote for Richard Nixon, did ignore such dire considerations.

As the first United States President ever to unleash the unrestrained terror of secret, reckless, punitive government upon the people – the citizens who voted for George W. Bush then answer back with a resounding and emphatical NO!… such horrors and terrors imposed upon not JUST the people, but would likewise, defile ALL future governments, as we see these horrors and terrors of the Nixon years, the Bush years, now infecting the administration of President Barack Obama, with the disease of the same terror, the same tyranny, of secretive and omnipotently OPPRESSIVE governance, when he swore an oath to end it, there is an undeniable crisis with the system of government that supposedly has built-in safeguards to deflect such sabotage!  But the system has failed, as people are no longer safe – to congregate, find safe shelter and food, to rely on stable government in times of crisis or have access to direct representatives, because the voice of large donations drowns out the voices of millions of voters and corporate personified influences intimidates and bullies elected and appointed officials to the point they fear for their seats, their lives and the lives of the families and loved ones!  As a result, the confusion and fear of nearly broken citizenry, prevents them from even the ambition of voting in favor of a better, more positive and productive direction.  But we were warned this would be the case if we became complacent, lazy and detached from our Civic Cultural duties as owners and managers of this – a peoples Democracy collective.  But no one reads.  No one pays attention.  And as a result, after years of disengagement, an entire nation awakens to find themselves locked out of what was once theirs – their own government!  Again, it didn’t have to turn out this way, as we were told in the year the first generation of American’s established this republic Democracy, designed withstand any enemy – domestic and foreign.  but this is something new: the enemy is ourselves…

In the 1971 Supreme Court case, The New York Times v. The United States Government, (see:http://www.oyez.org/cases/1970-1979/1970/1970_1873) the Nixon administration essentially tried to argue the case to allow it and the preceding Johnson administrations’ war and domestic terror criminality to stand, in keeping the Pentagon Papers secret and thus, keeping the entire illegal war enterprise hidden, could not stand against the full fury and force of the rule of law, which would have otherwise resulted in those secrets still remaining buried behind that same 43 year old wall of secrecy.  Today, we are facing the same, with the question of how to go forward in the saga of Edward Snowden – the former National Security Agency intelligence analyst, regarding the 99 percent total surveillance spy terror (with – again, the one percent being able to buy their own exclusive liberties and freedoms distinct from those of the rest of the nation) of the American people.

The whole sordid enterprise MUST be exposed and the only way that can and will happen is getting Mr. Snowden before the Senate leadership, with a guarantee of immunity from prosecution, so the entire program, finally, after 13 years – including illegal Section 8 Habeus Corpus violations, from Article I of the Constitution, will be out in the open.  But in order that this end NOW, NO ONE should escape prosecution, who was involved in the carrying out and covering up and blocking investigations, can we assure, unlike in the past, that this madness may ever occur again.  Mr. Snowden alerted us and we should repay is loyalty by ensuring the guilty don’t walk!  No Nixonian pardons!  It must END NOW, so it never happens, ever again!  This habit, if it is to be broken, must happen by our collective resolve, as James Madison proscribed in the first place.  This is how we know who did and did not do their homework, studying the Declaration, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Federalist Papers, and then we would have guarded ourselves years ago, from the prejudices of the unthinking, the wantonly ambitious and covetous criminal-minded conservative.  This Liberal/Progressive government is best managed by a cool and candid people, as James Madison described those of US whose patriotism isn’t some flag lapel pin, abortion opposition or school prayer and creationist advocate, but a people who alloy in themselves… with the purest of human blessings…  This is why reading on ones own is so critical in a Democracy, with such a rich literary history as ours.  James Madison seemed to be, in those days everywhere at once, in keeping a diary of the proceedings during the Constitutional Convention in the summer of 1788 and if we get nothing out of his lessons of that time, it should be this – that the “… choice must always be made, if not of the lesser evil, at least of the GREATER, not the PERFECT good…”

The case of the Nixon monstrosity was totally accidental, as such an occurrence had never taken place.  Reagan’s administration caught us as equally unaware and confused, being in a state of post-Vietnam war weariness, but is also is no excuse.  The Supreme Court majority installing their choice and then the unprecedented moves toward corporatization of every facet of life and politics was our fault and the natural world, our civilization and Democracy are now paying the price that our nations forebearers would be devastated and ashamed of, that we the people, allowed such horrible turns of misfortune, to overtake us so completely and unnecessarily!

The Senate will have to take the lead on this, as they are the only fully functioning and independently autonomous legislative group in Washington now.  They are, with its diverse membership, able to track down which contractors or policing agencies are buying excessive amounts of drugs which have no functional use to its members, as well as tracking down their areas of operations and who they are surveilling.  As we recently learned from a four year, NYPD investigation of Muslims, there was not a single person charged in the entire time of the teams’ secret operations and as peaceful, non-violent groups are being targeted, those same resources are being wasted, if violent and criminal individuals and groups are allowed to thrive, flourish and create mayhem, with impunity.  The Senate must also partner with the President in consolidating greater powers in normalizing and restoring law and order, from the top to bottom of society, in doing what we did 43 years ago, to assure something as simple, but as vital as free speech and assembly was given its Constitutional priorities as intended.

Having lost sight of this imperative, that is all we can depend on, in connecting with the same Divine revelations which inspired the inception of this Democracy, in keeping it as pure, as fresh and as vital, by making the hard choices – as did Edward Snowden, as did Barack Obama, not knowing that either had walked into a rigged game and had done all they could – against these great odds, to uphold their oath to God and country.  We, the PEOPLE let them AND ourselves down, by failing to populate the Senate and Congress with MORE Liberal/Progressives, Democrats and Republicans alike, of the type who sat on the Supreme Court Bench 43 years ago, and told us directly, THEY would uphold the purest spirit of the public good of which every office holder is obliged to carry, who represents every letter and phrase of the nations founding documents in the spirit of the divine and by their actions alone, we of this age, would know what to do to end traditions of evil, that have interloped into our virtuous, pure and ever-affirming Democracy, for all time to come.  Because if we are to utilize EVERY opportunity civilization offers, we must ensure that the way is made clear with faith, virtue and the God-given intelligence and compassion embodied within these God-inspired Democracy structures that have meant the difference between living free and independent as equals.  Read your Declaration, Constitution and Bill of Rights, your Federalist Papers, and then take all that Liberal/Progressive intellect and ambition and VOTE – for a transformed and affirmative America…
